At a meeting of the
St. Mary Education Association on Monday,
May 11, 2009, the St. Mary teachers voted
overwhelmingly to freeze their salaries for
the coming 2009/2010 school year at the
salaries for this current school year. As a
result of this vote, St. Mary School will be
able to keep its current teaching staff at
the current level for the 2009/2010 school
year with the exception of kindergarten and
the position of physical education teacher.
Knowing that the teachers voted to accept a
pay freeze for the 2009/2010 school year,
Fr. Franks froze the salaries of all school
personnel, including the principal,
secretary, custodians, and cafeteria as well
as all parish staff members. Due to the
current enrollment for the 2009/2010 school
year, the physical education teacher was not
able to be retained and at the present time
there will be one kindergarten class. Our
kindergarten enrollment is at 21 with one
more expected in a few days. If our
enrollment reaches 25 there will be a full
time, licensed aide placed in the classroom
to assist the teacher.
Although there will be two classes at each
grade level for grades 1 – 8, there have
been staff changes made for the 2009/2010
school year. The teaching roster for the
2009/2010 school year is as follows:
